2 Peter 1: 2-8…May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord….By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life…..We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence….And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises….These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires….
For this reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness; knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness; concern for others, and love….
You “add” these things to your faith inorder to make it active….
Faith is strong trust, confidence or belief in someone or something often without complete proof, encompassing loyalty, conviction and commitment…..
Having faith in God is much deeper…. bearing in mind that you are not only expected to believe; but also are expected to take action concerning a matter……therefore;
James 2:14-17…What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions??? Can that kind of faith save anyone???…Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well” ….but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing….What good
does that do???…
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough…Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless….
In this new year; let your faith be Alive and Active…Don’t just “speak” ….take action….make a difference ….Will you….
