As you continue on this weekend’s “assignment” as indicated in yesterday’s devotion; you must begin by “examining” your heart…..That is; your Mind, your Emotions and your Will “spiritually speaking.”…This is because they “affect” the way you think and feel…and hence affects your decisions…
Look out for offence… jealousy… envy… bitterness… malice…fear….doubt… unbelieve…lies…or anything “big” or “small” that could be hindering and interfering with your relationship with God…
Before you get started; repent your sins and surrender your life to God….
Surrender – to stop fighting or resisting, or to give up control, power, or possession of something to someone else….
In this regard; stop “resisting” and let God take “control” of your life….As you “check” your “heart”; there are “things” that will need to be “uprooted.” The “formula” given to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:10 will suffice…
Jeremiah 1:10…(in relation to you)…Some of the “things” that you find in your “heart” e.g bitterness….envy, hatred, etc you will have to …. uproot, tear down, destroy and overthrow…
Thereafter in their place; you must “plant” and “build”…what is beneficial…. Love… Compassion… Patience …Self- control… etc….
In order to “plant” and to “build”…what you say and do is important… hence….
James 1:19… Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry….
Luke 6:27…But to you who are willing to listen, I say, Love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you…
This too is making your life meaningful….
