Luke 10:18-19….Jesus told them: I saw Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning….
Look!! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the Enemy, and nothing will hurt you….
This power and authority is available to those who have “surrendered” their lives to God….by first of all starting here….
Romans 10:9-13…If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved….The scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”….no matter if that person is a Jew or a Gentle (Note:..this invitation is for everyone… regardless of the nationality….tribe … colour etc)… There is only one Lord, and he is generous to everyone who asks for his help….So then, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”….
What is salvation???
Salvation means deliverance or rescue from peril, harm, or the consequences of sin…
After “calling on the name of the LORD”…and are saved (rescued)…you are given an opportunity to “connect” deeper by acknowledging the “sacrifice” that Jesus made for all of us….
Romans 5:8,10,11,12… But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners …For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his son …So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God….
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world…Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned ….
You now see the reason why Jesus had to die for our sake ….To “save” us and “redeem” us from the “death penalty.”…
However; receiving this “free gift ” of salvation is up to you ….hence the “open” invitation ….
Note: Whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved….Yes …when you are in danger and you call upon this name…he will rescue you to safety…for this particular time …. But!!! If you want to “stay” safe and well protected …You “surrender” your life to Christ by taking the next step….”Declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord…and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.”….And then;
Proverbs 3:5-6….Trust in the LORD with all your heart…Do not depend on your own understanding…Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take….
You already know all this …right!!! …This is a good reminder because it is after you have “successfully” followed all these steps that you will be able to exercise the authority granted in Luke 10:19….With this authority; ” you will make prayer to him, He will hear you…You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on your path”….Job 22:27-28…
